The Aroeira Lisbon Hotel – Sea & Golf Resort is set within the Herdade da Aroeira estate, about 25 minutes from central Lisbon and just a short distance from the wide sands of Fonte da Telha beach. Aroeira Golf 

The Aroeira Golf Resort is one of Portugal’s most renowned golfing destinations, often called the “Lisbon’s Golf Riviera.” It is located on the south bank of the Tagus River, about 25 km from Lisbon, surrounded by pine forest and close to the beaches of Costa da Caparica. The resort has two 18-hole championship courses:

Aroeira I was designed by Frank Pennink and opened in 1973. It is a par-72 course stretching through a dense pine forest with wide fairways, natural lakes, and challenging bunkers. It has hosted several prestigious tournaments, including the Portuguese Open.

Aroeira II was designed by Donald Steel and opened in 2000. Also a par-72, it features 9 lakes and a more modern layout, with large greens and water hazards that demand precision. It is slightly more technical than Aroeira I, offering a different style of play.

Quinta do Peru

Quinta do Peru Golf & Country Club is one of the most highly rated courses around Lisbon, located near Azeitão, about 30 minutes south of the city and not far from Sesimbra and the Arrábida Natural Park. The course was designed by American architect Rocky Roquemore and opened in 1994. It is a par-72, 6,600-yard (6,036 m) parkland layout that runs through cork trees and pines, with the Arrábida mountains as a backdrop. The fairways are generous but strategically protected by bunkers and water hazards, making it suitable for all levels while still offering a real challenge. Signature holes include the 8th, a long par 3 over water, and the 16th, a par 4 with a lake guarding the green. The course is also known for its fast, well-maintained greens and its balance of risk and reward. Facilities at Quinta do Peru include a spacious driving range (with both grass and mats), putting and chipping greens, a golf academy, a well-stocked pro shop, and a clubhouse with a restaurant and bar overlooking the course. It regularly ranks among the top courses in Portugal and has hosted events on the European Challenge Tour.
