Hotel Albacora

Hotel Albacora is the result of the restoration of the former tuna fishing camp Arraial Ferreira Neto, where the “people of the sea” linked to tuna fishing lived from March to September. Set within the expansive Natural Park of Ria Formosa in Tavira, this hotel is a testament to the way of life of fishermen and their families, during the time when the traditional Almadrava – a tuna-catching frame – was still in use. The Grouse Course is the newest of the three nine-hole layouts, offering expansive inland hill views. Although it opened in 2008, it has already matured beautifully. The course features rolling terrain with fewer trees than the other two, providing a more open feel.The courses are abundant with wildlife, including wild boar, birds, and rabbits. Some lucky property owners have even spotted the elusive Iberian Lynx on The Grouse Course, particularly during early morning rounds.
