Calanova Golf

Calanova Golf Club is located just behind La Cala de Mijas in the scenic Mijas Golf Valley, on Spain’s Costa del Sol. This 18-hole, par 72 course spans 5,866 meters (around 6,410 yards) and is set across naturally undulating terrain, offering panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and surrounding mountains. Designed by Julián García and developed by Aymerich Golf Management, the course was constructed to USGA standards and opened in 2006.

The layout is notable for its elevated tees, wide fairways, and highly contoured greens. While the fairways are generally generous, accuracy is still important due to well-placed bunkers and natural hazards like ravines and barrancas. Each hole offers a distinctive challenge, with the changing elevation often requiring thoughtful club selection. For example, hole 2 is a dog-leg right par 4 with an uphill second shot, while hole 18 is a long par 5 that finishes with an elevated green protected by water on the right.
