Regarded as a technical player’s paradise, the course features relatively flat greens, but many holes are bordered by lagoons and water features, adding a unique challenge to each shot.

Faldo Golf

Designed by Sir Nick Faldo with strategic play at its core, the 6578m Par 72 Faldo Course is a championship layout that demands precise positioning for a successful round. “The land at Amendoeira is dramatic, and the project has the potential to be a real talking point in the Algarve. With so many courses in the region, that’s no small feat,” said Nick Faldo during his visit in 2007. In a modern twist on a traditional design, the course replaces Sunningdale’s heather with cacti and wild herbs, while spartan Holm oaks and ancient olive trees take the place of lush English woodlands. Desert scrub bunkers made of crushed limestone mirror the sandy tracts of Berkshire, all within a course that thrives on the classic principles of strategic play.

In 2016, the Faldo Course was honored with the title of Portugal’s Best Golf Course by the World Golf Awards.

O’Connor Golf

Designed by Christy O’Connor Jnr., this course complements the neighboring Faldo Course and fully embraces its location in a fertile valley. With a variety of water features, including lakes and flowing watercourses throughout, the course demands accuracy and challenges golfers of all skill levels. The rich topsoil has been expertly landscaped and adorned with mature palm trees, creating a lush and ornamental environment reminiscent of an expansive oasis. While the tees are generally well-connected to the fairways, the course’s greater overall distance, combined with water hazards and large greens, presents a formidable challenge. Golfers will also need to master the art of reading the subtly contoured putting surfaces, which are a defining feature of the course.
